Peter Bello: Burial Slated for Today in Calabar, Body Still Held by Lagos State Coroner + More Info

The burial of Peter Bello, co-pilot of the ill-fated Bristow helicopter, is slated for today, August 20 at the Hawkins Road cemetery in Calabar, Cross River State.

But the Lagos State Coroner has bluntly refused to release his body to be flown down to Calabar for the scheduled burial for undisclosed reasons. This has caused agitation and call for the release of his body on social media.

Recall that the recovered bodies of the handsome 26-year old co-pilot, the American first pilot Joseph Wyatt and the other four were deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, mortuary for autopsy.

Peter Bello and Joseph Wyatt were conveying 12 oil workers from an oil rig station when their helicopter plunged into the Oworonshoki, Lagos area of the lagoon just five minutes before landing.
