INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Mohammed Jega, started collation of the 2015 Presidential election result around 10pm, 31 March, 2015 but officially declared a winner around 3:46am 1, April, 2015.
He has officially named Gen. Mohammed Buhari as the one to take the mantle of leadership come May 29th, 2015.
Here is his official Declaration:
"Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the declaration of the results.
"I Prof. Attahiru Mohammed Jega hereby certify that:
1) I was the Returning Offficer of the Presidential Election held on the 28 March, 2015"
2) The Election was contested
3)That the candidates received the following votes: -
a) Senator Anifowoshe :22,125
b) Alhaji Galadima :40,311
c) Rafiu Salau :30,673
d) Dr.Mani I. :29,666 5
e) Ayeni Musa :53,537
f) Muhammadu Buhari :15,424,921
g) Chief Sam E. :36,300
