The Executives of the National Association Of Social Media Practitioners Of Nigeria, NASMPON, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Samuel Mariere, Member representing Ughelli North Constituency 1, Delta
State House of Assembly, yesterday 1st June, 2016.

After the opening prayers said by Comr. Israel Ovie Omanudhowho at the Legislator's official residence in Asaba, the Delta State capital, the State Chairman of the association, Comr Sunny Basikoro commended the Honourable Member for his warm reception and his unique way of relevantly participating on social media, despite his busy schedule.

He specifically lauded the Legislator's admirable way of engaging his constituents one-on-one on his facebook page, debunking rumours where necessary, engaging in objective debates, giving them feedbacks from his sittings in Asaba and assuring them of his intense hunger to bring dividends of his representation home to them.

He cited a particularly example of how the Legislator was maliciously painted black recently as one who's 'using his boys to castigate another politician' until the Legislator exonerated himself and promptly set the records straight on his facebook timeline.

In his remarks, Hon. Mariere stated that the power and influence of the social media cannot be over-emphasized in the present age as it could make or mar people and it could only be undermined at one's own peril.

Speaking further, Comr. Sunny Basikoro sought the Honourable Member's support in their maiden National Congress slated for 24th to 26th June, 2016, at Bellwood Hotels, Asaba, Delta state.

Comr. Marcus Enudi, Chairman of NASMPON,  also thanked the Honourable for receiving them with open arms and added that his social-media savvy is pace-setting and second-to-none amongst his peers.

Hon. Mariere pledged his support for the association and promised to key into the maiden programme.

Delegates of NASMPON were Comr. Sunny Basikoro, National President, Comr. Marcus Enudi, State Chairman, Comr. Jerry Onyekachukwu Dir. of Social media Surveillance, Comr. Israel Omanudhowho Isoko North Co-ordinator, Comr. Mary O. Adagbo, Sapele Co-ordinator, Comr. Joseph O. Osademe, Ughelli North Co-ordinator, Comr. Austine Odiachi, Oshimili South Co-ordinator, Otutu Chuks, State Dir. Of Mobilization and Onwumah Jerome, Ndokwa West Co-ordinator.
