Governor Uduaghan and the Most unlikely Bedfellows on Valentine's Day

Governor Uduaghan commissioning Umeh Road

If the only word that caught your attention in the headline is 'bedfellows' and its literal meaning, then your mind need some cleansing, lol.

Seriously now, if you don't believe the Executive
Governor of Delta State,  Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is indeed a listening governor and an advocate of Women's Rights par excellence, you need to read this and you will be amazed whom he chose to spend his Valentine day with and why.

After the postponement of the general election, the Governor went on an advocacy page on Facebook, Umeh Need Road, to make a post that put smiles on the advocates' faces. See post below:

Let me tell you a little about the road.  The 7.1 kilometers Umeh road which is purely social media-driven was constructed across the very terribly swampy area of Umeh, a village in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. Choosing to Commission it on Valentine's day speaks volume of his passion about his pet project - Umeh Road.

Days after the Governor's post, Yours Sincerely who is also a member of the forum chose to write what she termed a 'love letter' from all Isoko Positive women to the amiable Governor of the State asking that the Governor commissions Emede Arts and Crafts Centre as a valentine's gift to the women. Below is a screenshot of the beginning of the 'love letter'.

...And the Governor replied few minutes after the post was made:

True to his words, he made calls to the ultra-classy Chairman of Isoko South Local Government,  Sir Hon Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, KSM and the ex-commissioner who influenced the project, Hon. Orezi Esievo.

Being a typical woman who always craves perfection, Hon. Orezi was on edge. She felt the barely 3-days notice to get the centre ready for commissioning would not get the Centre cleaned up enough and ready for the Governor's visit, and yes, she feared that snakes could have inhabited the abandoned-centre and what if one just chose to come out and welcome the Governor. Talk about women and fears!

She gave these and more as excuses to hold the Governor off from even so much as visiting the Centre until three weeks when she would have fumigated the Centre twice...but the Governor insisted on meeting us "midway" and at least visiting even if commissioning wasn't going to be possible. What a Val we have in Governor Uduaghan! *Winks*

And sure he did! He had to stop by at the Centre on his way from commissioning Umeh Road.

Thank you, Your Excellency for being our Val. We love you to the moon and back sir.
