Mr Samson Ovie Amarie, father to Major General Napoleon Owariuwoma Amarie, Yours Sincerely, and six others, was laid to rest on Friday, 23 January,
2015,  at his hometown, Araya, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Pa Samson died on Tuesday, November 25th 2014, at the Military Hospital, Awolowo road, Ikoyi, Lagos. He was 84.

The weekend-long carnival-styled burial ceremony started on Thursday with a wake-keep.

On Friday, the burial ceremony was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Araya. Security for the event was marshalled by the Nigerian Army.

The Outing Service on Sunday saw Papa's children donning on white attires followed by a festival of Chop-and-quench for all-comers at the family house. The ever-popular Ukodo and gwo-gwo soup comprising of goat-meat pepper soup, yam and unripe plantain was the meal of the day.
