A Kenyan local leader, Daniel Busienei, has confirmed that Wanyonyi died from Malaria, a sickness caused by mosquitoes bites since July 18.
The family had hidden this from his followers since then, declaring him missing and lying he has been hospitalised in Nairobi, where his sons are taking
care of him.
care of him.
Busienei said Wanyonyi’s children sought a burial permit on July 19 and he told his assistant chief to issue them a permit to allow the deceased family to lay him to rest, adding that the hospital required it before releasing the body.
Assistant chief Paul Bett confirmed that he gave the family the burial permit a day after Wanyonyi’s death.
Wanyonyi developed back problems four years ago and was confined to a wheelchair at his home where his followers say he has 70 wives, 500 children and more than 1,000 grandchildren.
He even said that he brought HIV/AIDS to earth as a punishment to humanity for defying his commandments.
In his words, “If the Kenyan Government does not give me 3 billion shillings ($3.8m) I will bring a curse on Kenyans,” he warned few months before he gave in to malaria.
On Sunday, Wanyonyi’s followers prayed for his return at his home in Nangili, Kakamega county. Some of them said they have been fasting since they learnt that he had gone missing. Some of his followers prayed for his ‘resurrection’ when the news of his death filtered in.
“We believe in him and we want him back on the throne as soon as possible,” follower Joyce Nakhanu said.
Just how gullible can people get?
His mansion is already prepared for him in the hottest place in hell fire. My prayers are with those he deceived while on this devilish mission.
