The Traditional Ruler and Odio of Emevor kingdom in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Highness Francis Onovughakpo Ekama who is 110 years old has gone back to school.
The monarch who enrolled at the National Open University, Emevor Study Centre for the 2015/2016
academic session, joined other new intakes of the University on Thursday 10th September for their matriculation.
According to the monarch, his passion for education in general and for the course, Guidance and Counselling, in particular, informed his decision.
"I desire to make history as the nation’s oldest monarch to bag a degree in Guidance and counselling while still on the throne.Age cannot be a barrier to learning for me. It is what I desire and I assure all of you that I will study very well and come out of the university in record time without fail.”
The Matriculation was coloured by illustrous Sons and daughters of Emevor, Chiefs, traditional Prime Ministers, and National Open University Officials.
Must be true what they say that learning never ends. Happy Matriculation, Your Majesty, may God see you through to the convocation.
