Senator Pius Akpo Ewherido dies at 50.

The  Senator representing the Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Akpo Pius Ewherido died Sunday evening, at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness. Pius Ewherido was elected Senator for Delta Central in the April 2011 National elections, running on the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) platform.

Senator Ewherido, popularly called Gogorogo,  reportedly

fell down three days ago and collapsed following a stroke attack at his Abuja home while making a phone call and had been hospitalized at the National Hospital Abuja. The Delta State government had  concluded plans for his treatment in Germany before his death in hospital today.
