PHOTO: Family Hoping For A Girl Welcomes 12th Boy

For the 12th time, a Christian family in Rockford who were secretly hoping to have a daughter after having 11 boys already welcomes baby number 12 into the world, and – hold your breath- it’s another boy!

Kateri and Jay Schwandt of Rockford, Mich welcomed their 12th baby into the family on
Sunday August 4th, 2013 and they were surprised when they discovered mum had given birth to another boy.

Their motto is thank heaven for little boys.

Tucker Ray Schwandt is the newest sibling among the other boys ranging in age up to 21 years old and was welcomed by his club of older brothers in a rush of excitement at the Saint Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The couple named their newest addition after one of his grandfathers, "Ray," who celebrates the same birthday.

The proud parents said they had been hoping for a girl, but this time, like the past 11 times, it was not to be.

Jay says he was hoping he would have had a girl this time around but he simply added to his squad of boys enough to complete a soccer team.

"I'm sure a little girl probably would be fun, but we know what we're doing. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a locker room," Kateri Schwandt said.

Amazingly, dad Jay says he’s not opposed to having more kids. He says maybe the 13th “will be the charm” that gets the family a girl.

That’s some giant locker room there! 12, and they refused to take a hint that daddy may just be a boy-producing-machine…and simply wait for grand daughters?  Well, they look like a happy family though, so, nuffsaid!
