President Barrack Obama needs no introduction as he turned
52 on Sunday August 4th, 2013.
Obama kicked off his birthday weekend Saturday when he left
the White House just after 8 a.m. EDT— that’s unusually early for the half-hour
motorcade ride and a getaway to Andrews Air Force base to squeeze in a
larger-than-usual golf game round with friends.
The golf party lasted seven-hour Saturday with his 11 close
friends and at least one well-stocked cooler as
they spent the day competing for bragging rights..

The White House said the president’s three golfing foursomes
included some of his friends from his days in Hawaii ,
where he grew up, and Chicago ,
where he lived before becoming president, along with current and former aides.
Among them were childhood friends Bobby Titcomb and Mike
Ramos, and Chicago
pals Marty Nesbitt and Eric Whitaker. White House aides Marvin Nicholson and
Sam Kass, an assistant chef, rounded out the group, along with Reggie Love, who
for years had been Mr. Obama’s personal assistant, or “body man,” and
basketball buddy until he left the White House in late 2011 to work on getting
an MBA.
After their round, and after President Obama received the
latest counter-terrorism updates, the group headed to Camp David, the rural
Maryland retreat made available to US Presidents, for an intimate birthday party.

The winning foursome (Love, Kass, Wahid Hamid and Laurent
Delanney) flew to Camp David with the
president in Marine One, the presidential helicopter, due to the limited number
of seats; losers travelled the long way by vans.
First Lady Michelle Obama travelled to Camp
David separately.
Michelle Obama took to twitter on Sunday to send her husband
an affectionate birthday message on her official twitter account, @FLOTUS.
The message was accompanied by an undated black and white
photo of the Obamas as a young couple relaxing on a sofa.
The White House issued a happy birthday tweet that
included a vintage photo of a then-43-year-old Obama.
Marine One helicopter touched down at 1:58 and Obama was back in the
White House by 2pm, Sunday afternoon.
Obama wore a casual
jacket and an open-collared blue shirt. When someone shouted 'Happy Birthday,'
he smiled and waved one of several waves toward the cameras as he entered the
White House.

No birthday cakes or
party hats were evident."
Either way, the President enjoyed a low-key birthday and was
probably doing more exciting things like solving the world's problems and
playing golf rather than follow his Twitter feed which was filled with messages
from well-wishers.
Happy Belated Birthday!
