Okowa Accounts For His Days: Excites Concerned Niger Delta Youths Initiative Group

Mr Ebis Orubebe, Founder
The ongoing socio-economic programs of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa designed to widen opportunities for the empowerment and meaningful engagement of the youths for speedy economic growth of Delta State has got the support of a youth group in Delta State.

The Concerned Niger Delta Youths Initiative, a group
founded by Mr  Ebis Orubebe is excited by the governor’s robust economic blueprint adding that full implementation of his various programs would yield enormous benefits for state and the country at large.

Ebis stated that Governor Okowa of Delta State had felt the dire need to restructure and reconstitute the present vibrant board and management of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) to effectively address the plights and the needs of the oil bearing communities in the state.

Accordig to Ebis, the governor has earnestly commenced full implementation of the Delta State Capital Territory Development, established the Technical and Vocational Education to engage, empower and boost capacity of the youths as the active workforce.

He stated that the upgrading of the Asaba International Airport is geared toward providing strong economic base to advance the state’s huge economic potentials as an emerging large market west of the Niger Bridge.

"We are aware that his efforts at renovating and upgrading the infrastructure of the three technical colleges in Agbor, Ofagbe and Sapele campuses is targeted at growing adequate manpower in technology for effective contribution to the state economy.

"The Delta State Empowerment Entrepreneurship Program of Governor Okowa is indeed a wallet comprising the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurship Program (YAGEP) Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) as well as the Production and Processing Support Program (PPSP) are intended to empower and engage our teeming youths while expanding the economic base of the state", Ebis added.

According to the youth organization, if days of inactivity could perturb a private entrepreneur, then an elected politician may be ignoring his days of non-productivity at the detriment of his constituency and himself. And if early giant steps are considered to be of no consequence in human endeavours including governance as perceived in some quarters, then such engagements may suffer strenuous and poor conclusions in the end.

"Therefore, it cannot be disputed that, to hit the ground running as we usually put it and as in the case of Governor Okowa, does embody vision, planning and manifest proof of capability and that the governor was not merely a political passer-by but knowledgeable about his direction in governance as a well-prepared servant of his people", he supplied.

The organization equally holds that if our days were not worth accounting for, it meant that the preceding nights were colossal waste. For, if the good egg must hatch in the day, it was necessarily to have been laid by night as a precondition.

"So, if development processes fail to count, bit by bit or day by day, then the months, the whole tenure spent in office by an elected office holder and perhaps his lifetime may fail to add-up positively in the end".

The Concerned Niger Delta Youths Initiative, therefore congratulates the governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa for his laudable steps, courage and creativity in governance and urge him not to relent in his effort to entrench a youth driven development in Delta State.
