The Nation has reported how an unnamed female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) attached to the National Assembly narrowly escaped rape on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
The fair complexioned lady was reportedly in tears as
she told passers-by at the Senate wing how she escaped being raped by a heavily built man who walked into her in one of the rest rooms in the upper legislative chamber.

The corps member said she was about to undress herself when the man accosted her in the rest room specifically designed for women.
“As the man approached me, I had no option than to raise the alarm and the man took to his heels,” she said.
The corps members wondered why security operatives at the National Assembly did not respond quickly to her call and apprehend the man.
