Fajuyi’s Wife Dies in Her Sleep at 84


Mrs Eunice Fajuyi, the 84-year-old wife of Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, late Military Governor of the defunct Western State, died in her sleep at about 6.45 a.m. today at the family house in Okesa area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.  

Her death came 47 years after that of her husband, who was gunned down in a counter coup in
1966. She vowed never to remarry as a mark of honour to her late husband whom she lost when she was 38 years old and she vowed never to remarry as a mark of honour to her late husband.

Prof. Modupe Adelabu, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, was among the early callers who visited the family to mourn the deceased.

The late octogenarian would have turned 85 on July 27.
