Kate Middleton and Prince William are back home at Kensington Palace
after introducing the world to England 's
future king outside of St. Mary's Hospital on Tuesday.
Wearing a fancy dress and having perfect hair is probably
low on the list of priorities for an average woman who just gave
birth. But Kate Middleton isn’t an
average woman.
When she, Prince William, and their new baby
prince exited the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital on Tuesday, there were
swarms of photographers and cameramen staking out the exits to capture the
newly expanded royal family's departure, so who can blame the Duchess of
Cambridge for wanting
to look fantastic?
At 9:56 Tuesday morning, her private hair stylist, Amanda
Cook Tucker arrived at the hospital with a suitcase full of grooming
supplies to tame and curl Middleton's hair and she was accompanied by another
woman.
The other woman brought along a large garment bag containing
clothes for the royal couple. A source says that "Amanda is an expert at
what Kate loves – full glossy blow-dries that hold." That was
certainly evident as she emerged.
Kate looked truly beautiful just a day after delivering her
baby as she emerged from St. Mary's Hospital just after 7:00 p.m. local time in
a Jenny Packham cornflower-blue crepe de chine dress with white polka dots and
nude high heels, while William was dressed in blue.
The cap-sleeved, empire-waist dress featured a polka dot
print that conjured up images of Princess Diana – Prince
William's mother wore a green polka dot dress while exiting St. Mary's Hospital
after giving birth to him. It's also probably not a coincidence that the new
royal parents both wore blue in honor of their baby boy.
Middleton carried
their son, who was wrapped in a white blanket and passed the baby to William
before the couple posed for photographers and answered questions.
"He's got a good pair of lungs on him," said
William. "He's a big boy, he's quite heavy. We're still working on a name
so we'll have that as soon as we can."
"It's very emotional and it's such a special time. I think any parent probably knows what this feeling is like," said Middleton.
"I'll remind him of his tardiness when he's a bit older," said William. "Hopefully, the hospital and you guys can all get back to normal now. And we can look after him. He's got her looks, thankfully."
Middleton said, "No, no, no."
When a reporter asked if the royal baby has hair, William joked, "He's got way more than me. Thank God."

The couple then walked back inside the hospital. Moments
later, they re-emerged with William carrying the car seat. He got in the front
seat and took the wheel while Middleton sat in the back with her baby.
The royal family's brief appearance was touching, and
Middleton's hair, makeup, and ensemble were impeccable.
